Nicole checking in from Prague

Dobrý den boys and girls,
I remember always looking forward to reading Tim and Brian's incredible and entertaining updates during their study abroad and although I do not have half of the writing talent for which they are both so well known, I hope this email is still well received and the bad grammar tolerated.
So after 11 days of being a nomad I finally found an apartment to live in for the semester. The process was outrageous to say the least and I have never been more happy to call a place home. I'm living in Prague 2, which is just outside the main downtown area but in a more residential part of the city. I live 20 feet from a huge park (including a beer garden). I have not had a single class yet (jealous?), but I have my first class this afternoon. Luckily, its a class where we just walk around touring Prague and looking at the 11th and 12th century architecture so I'm easing back into class mode nice and slow. Three days of class a week makes it easy to take long weekends traveling, so I think I might go visit Oktoberfest this weekend or maybe Vienna.
The unlocked dorm rooms and left-out computers in the library are a far cry from the precautions I am forced to take in order to deal with Prague's notorious pickpockets and burglars. Just yesterday I was on the metro when a huge group of tourists boarded. They were loud, obnoxious, and I'm pretty sure they left the metro with half of their possessions. Pickpockets are just plan amazing here.
And although most of you know I love the bunker with all of my heart, there are no words... I spent all of Saturday night at a disco club where the floor lit up in different colors and the speakers blared 70's and 80's all night long. Naturally I did not have a voice the next day.
I booked my ticket for Denver already and I am looking forward to seeing you all in November. I will probably be signed onto skype a majority of the time, my screenname is "nicoledvorak" so if you would like to chat I would love to hear from you!
From the VAIL Daily. ARAPAHOE BASIN — The cold weather and clear skies Tuesday night made temperatures ideal for a successful night of snow making at Arapahoe Basin. Sixteen guns were fired up around 7 p.m. Opening day has not been set and will depend upon weather and snow-making efforts.
The torture is over - the fall EISA meeting, held here at Middlebury, has ended! REJOICE! Luckily enough, Stever, Andrew, Patty and I only had to motivate over to the golf course for the meeting while some members of our league drove over 7 hours to make it! yowzah! Another reason to be happy about being centrally located! yesssss
Anyway, for those of you (parent's/panther fan's/alum's) that haven't already booked hotels, the schedule of events for 2010 looks like this:
January 15th and 16th - St. Lawrence Carnival (Whiteface/Mt.Van Hovenberg)
