While the Junior Nationals crew settles into life in Soldier Hollow, Utah, and the NCAA crowd begins final preparations for the first races happening on Wednesday, a third contingent of skiers remain on campus. Hannah Smith is one of them, a recent patient for a compartment syndrome release. Hannah came to Middlebury with tough symptoms of compartment syndrome and worked through the fall with technical improvements before the intensity of racing proved too much. Stalwart photographer and dedicated Middlebury teammate, Stella Holt, put together this film about Hannah’s recovery:
