What a nail biting weekend of racing we had at the UVM Carnival! Overall scores were tight right down to the end of the day on Sunday. With 3 Individual wins between Patrick Johnson on the Nordic Team and Hig Roberts on the Alpine Team, Middlebury missed 2nd place by 6 points! We’ll take a solid 3rd and look to break into the top 2 this coming weekend at Dartmouth.
Hig has been super consistent all season long so what better time to Podium than on his own mother’s birthday! Happy Birthday, Lulu – hope you had as good a day as your young buck did!
Other impressive results this weekend came from Liam Mulhern who ended up 13th in SL and Christine Schozer who pulled out another top ten in SL for a 7th place finish.
Eastern Cup races scheduled at Middlebury for the women and Suicide Six for the men resulted in a HUGE win of the longest running FIS race in North America by Andrew McNealus. His father won that same race 30 something years earlier. Nothing like a home town boy taking the win in a race like that! And to top it off the GIANTS won the super bowl! I couldn’t be happier! What an awesome weekend!!
