Last night I could hardly sleep – not sure if I’m excited, anxious, or just plain nervous for the first carnival this weekend. As a ski racer you experience so many different emotions entering the first carnival series, but as a coach I never imagined that you’d get just as nervous, excited, pumped up, or deflated as the athletes do. Whelp, I’m here to clarify – Abigail Copeland gets extremely excited and very nervous on race day as I’m sure many coaches in the EISA do. We can’t help it, we put in enough effort during the week to deserve to feel as good as our athletes do when they come down the hill and crush. That being said, I’m confident we can punch in some very fast results on Friday and Saturday and I’m confident I’ll feel pretty darn good at the end of the weekend! Good luck to both the Nordic and Alpine teams on opening weekend.
